NHLPA hopes proposal is 'start of true negotiations'

The NHL proposed a 50-50 split in hockey-related revenue on Tuesday, but the NHLPA knows -- from past negotiations -- that doesn't necessarily mean it's the right deal

I talked with a few players involved in the negotiations, who realize that the league's previous offers weren't as good as they initially appeared. So, as of Tuesday night, there isn't a deal.

But the players do believe the owners are finally starting to show signs of beginning "serious" negotiations.

Read my story on CSNNE.com, to see how these players reacted to the league's 50-50 proposal.
